Advisory Board
Ginnette Baker
Vice President Business Strategy Integration Teleperformance
Hello, I am Ginnette Baker. I am so excited to be a part of GirlzWhoSell and help further the company’s vision and mission. I am an avid problem solver and in my career gravitated towards finding creative solutions to achieve results faster and outcomes that are more lucrative than originally thought possible. Being a young mom, raising two kids while working full time and going to school full time was just one of the many challenges I faced head on. My outspoken and Socratic questioning approach to try to solve things differently awarded me the feedback young in my career of being “too intimidating” to higher executives. I took the feedback with an open heart and mind but did not lose my passion or command to drive excellence! With over 20 years of operations experience, I never imagined a job in Sales was the right fit for me, until I was in a third round interview at a new company where the COO looked at me and said, “I think you would be amazing in Business Development.” Please note: I was not interviewing for a Business Development role.
The result…
I investigated the opportunity and made a change in my career. I have never been more fulfilled and financially successful as I have been the last six years of my career, I wish I had known this was an option sooner. I also have a passion to train and mentor having taught at the college level for six years. Therefore, assisting GirlzWhoSell to help educate and develop young women in B2B Sales is a journey I am excited to support!
Kayla Madsen Lopez
Director, Business Development TransPerfect
I am a B2B sales professional, known for energetically bringing insights and authenticity into my business development work. As a young girl I was competitive and often called “bossy” – I never considered a career in sales as an option. Being bossy turned out to be one of my super powers as I have excelled in leadership, directing teams and leading clients to complex solutions. Today, from my home in Spain, I help brands launch into International markets. I am an eCommerce expert, speaker and panelist. As an emerging and recognized B2B sales leader I am passionate about helping other women to reach their goals. I believe sales is the way to do it!
I truly believe in the power of networking, sharing knowledge, and helping others to succeed. Working in the male dominated industry of technology sales, where I am one of only a few female senior sales leaders on my team, has provided me an opportunity to grow, travel the world, meet incredible people and achieve many personal and professional goals. I would never turn back. I am so excited to be embarking on this very important journey and supporting GirlzWhoSell.
Lauren Schroer
GirlzWhoSell Junior Ambassador and Student
I am currently a sophomore at the University of Missouri where I also work as a Student Assistant for the Mizzou Football team. My primary responsibility is to assist the Directors of On-Campus Recruiting with everyday operations, as well as organizing and working weekend recruiting events and greeting visiting patrons representing Mizzou Football in a positive light. Ever since I was able to do legal work, I got a job! Although I am still in college, I have been very blessed with opportunities to explore and work in a variety of different career fields. I have five years of customer service experience that started with working in the restaurant industry where I maintained the position of Assistant Manager. I am confident that both the communication and management skills I have learned will help me in my future.
TBH, I never thought of a career in B2B Sales until I learned about GirlzWhoSell. When I thought about using some of the traits that have made me so successful in my current work it became clear that sales is an option I should consider. Working with the GirlzWhoSell Board has really opened my eyes to new possibilities. I am so excited to be selected as the Junior Ambassador and to start this journey forward with GirlzWhoSell!
Wendy Shlensky
Principal / Owner / AR Maven
Wendy Shlensky started her own Analyst Relations Advisory firm, Canopy Communications and Marketing. She started in Industry Analyst Relations over 17 years ago when someone took a chance on her. Seventeen years later, she is a sought-after professional specializing in advising companies on their AR Strategy. She thrives on promoting Industry Analyst Relations and women’s empowerment, as well as facilitating networking opportunities for people in her corner of the world. Wendy’s experience with sales is varied. The sales job she enjoyed the most, prior to her running sales for her new business, was wholesale bakery sales. The two things she remembers most from that job was how often her prospects called her back, even to decline (which was different than tech sales) and pitching Starbucks a chocolate chip cookie. She left the bakery to return to technology.
She won the coveted HGS CEO award in 2016 and the Infosys Award for Excellence in 2012 for both Sales & Marketing and Brand Management. She was named as one of the inaugural Unstoppable Women in 2020 through the partnership of HCL’s Red Ladder initiative and IAOP as well as won a Stevie Award for Women in 2017. Wendy puts her natural curiosity to good use to continue to learn new skills such as patience, and becoming her own Tech Queen (CIO).
Wendy volunteers on the advisory board for many organizations to facilitate women’s empowerment. Her role is to be a sounding board, as well as assist with programming and promotion of events.
Jason Cutter
Founder & CEO of Cutter Consulting Group, Author
Sales was never a career that was on my radar. Growing up awkward, shy, and introverted I was surrounded by a family that articulated their disdain for salespeople because they “only cared about making the sale and were not to be trusted.” For that reason, I opted to go in career directions that involved dealing with people as little as possible. To be honest, I preferred working with animals more than people and being on the water verses being behind a desk. To that end, I enrolled into the University of California, Santa Cruz and opted for a bachelor’s degree in Marine Biology. Despite spending years tagging sharks, after graduating I was unable to find a position in my chosen career. I fumbled trying to land on a sufficient Plan B and secured a job working in tech support and government contracting roles where I had to talk to people all day long. I discovered that, not only was I good at it, I really enjoyed it. Sales to me wasn’t about pushing people, it was about solving their problems and helping them achieve a goal. During my time in sales I moved up in organizations and discovered that what I loved most was
helping others succeed in selling and building sales operations. I went on to get my MBA from Southern New Hampshire University in Operations and Supply Chain Management and decided to use my new found passion to launch Cutter Consulting Group. CCG is a coaching and training organization working with companies and individuals around the world who want to dramatically improve their selling effectiveness. I am the author of Selling With Authentic Persuasion: Transform from Order Taker to Quota Breaker and the A Sales Consultant’s Guide To: series, and host of the Authentic Persuasion Show podcast. I also teach on online course titled Persuading Like a Professional. I am super excited to be an advisor for GirlzWhoSell and to help women leverage their unique strengths to start and excel in a sales career. www.jasoncutter.com
